8 Great Parenting Tips To Help Guide Your Kids

Yes, it is true that there is no simple and straight forward method in raising children. You have to do it the old fashion way. Good parenting advice could go a long way in ensuring the happiness of your child.

Let us take a few moments to acknowledge these good parenting tips on raising great kids;

1. Recognise the privilege of having them in your life.

Children are gifts from God. They are bundles of joy meant to spice up your life. They give meaning to your life when they are around. A good and caring mother knows what it costs having to carry her child for 9 months in her stomach. This gives her some sense of appreciation, that truly, children are God's gift and always recognise the privilege of having them in her life.

2. Don't suffocate them with your ambitions for them. Let them be!

Most often than not, you find in our society today, parents invest a lot in their children to ensure a bright future for them, Which is good. But investing in them with the hope that they will save you from the problem you weren't strong enough to face is totally unacceptable. Because of this reason parents force their children on a particular path to ensure their own redemption instead of the path their children choose to take. Your child need not do what you did in your life. Instead, your child should do something out of love and passion. You only need to guide and support them in whatever choice they choose to make.

3. Shower them equally with true love

The worst thing a parent can do when raising a child, is to become favouritism, showing much attention to a particular child more than the others. This often brings enmity to the family. It is true that different children may need different levels of attention, expression of love and toughness. So therefore, it is your duty as a parent to try to balance the love and attention you give to your children so they won't feel left out.

4. Give them time to grow up

Most parents are so eager to see their children grow up that they end up missing out the precious time their children spend as kids.

The saying "the young shall grow" is absolutely true because we were all once little kids. So don't rush them into growing up. Let them appreciate every moment they spend as a child, because when they eventually grow up, it's those childhood memories they will cherish so much.

5. Make it a time to learn from them, not only to teach

Where most parents get it wrong at times, is the fact that they always want to teach their children how to do this and that, how things should go and shouldn't go without paying much attention to what their children also have to teach.

Ok, let's do a little something; Try comparing yourself with your child and see who is capable of more joy? Your child right? So now tell me, who is more qualified to teach in matters of happiness? Lol

Whenever you see a little child playing, laughing, singing, crawling under the table and doing all those little things children do. You find yourself unknowingly imitating the little child and doing all those things you once thought you had forgotten how to do. That's them teaching you how to relive your childhood memories.

6. Nurture them spiritually

Children are rewards from God. The bible clearly states; Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Train up your child teaching them good morals. Teach them to know right from wrong. Guide their growth towards the truth of the scripture which will make them wise for salvation. Train them to know and love God. Teach them how to talk to God through prayers. For this will build up their Faith in God, making them strong enough to face any challenge life brings.

7. Provide a supportive and loving environment for your children

The environment we live in plays a very important role in the growth and development of your child. It influences them either positively or negatively depending on the nature of the environment. No one wants to raise bad kids. One of the most painful experience parents witnesses is seeing their child turn wayward.

Good home bringing for your kids is only the first step. Provide a supportive and loving environment for your children to ensure good mental growth.

8. Maintain a friendly relationship with your children

Always try to make out time for your children.  Most especially when they need you the most. Make out time to talk and listen to them. Teach them new things and of course also learn from them.

Maintaining a friendly relationship with your children is very essential because it will teach them how to act to people and also teach them to be a better parent in future.

Bonne Chance!!

  2. . Even a 10-month-old infant can tell how badly you want something by observing how hard you work to achieve it, says new study that suggests that we learn to infer motivations of others much earlier than previously thought.

The study published online in the journal Science also suggests that babies acquire very early an intuition about how people make decisions. “This study is an important step in trying to understand the roots of common-sense understanding of other people’s actions,” said study co-author Josh Tenenbaum, Professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. “It shows quite strikingly that in some sense, the basic math that is at the heart of how economists think about rational choice is very intuitive to babies who don’t know math, don’t speak, and can barely understand a fe…
