Eight Basic Needs Parents Should Meet For Their Children


 A parent is the primary custodian of the child and is bestowed with the responsibility of providing for the child until the child is capable of providing for himself or herself. Seven basic needs a parent should meet for children include:


  1. Food

What to eat and what to drink should be the most basic needs parents should meet for children. These ensure the health and growth of the child. 


  1. Shelter

Another basic need parents must meet for a child is shelter; a roof or cover over the head. Shelter ensures the child security and safety as part of basic needs to be provided.


  1. Clothing

No matter the odds, parents should be able to provide clothing for their children as a basic need to be met.


  1. Healthcare

One other basic need to be met by parents for children that is always taken lightly is healthcare. Parents should not hesitate to consult a physician if the child is ill.


  1. Education

Every child deserves the right to basic education. Parents should endeavour to make this as one of the basic needs to be met for the child.


  1. Love

A child who is loved from home has a strong character. Love and care are two basic needs of a child. Parents should not deny the child these.


  1. Emotional support

A child learns everyday and from everything or situation. Some of the child’s experiences can cause emotional distress. It is the duty of parents to always support the child emotionally through childhood.


8.Guidance

Children need guidance on how to function properly in the society.This is where instilling moral values and character in them comes to play.
