How To Create Lasting Memories With Your Kids

Life itself is full of memories, they may not all be pleasant, but the pleasant memories are those that brings back our youthfulness and evoke a huge smile on our faces. Even as an adult, I still have vivid memories of mom teaching us nursery rhymes and dad making us spot a word he has chosen on a news paper and the gift that ensued.

Memories! How can you create lasting memories with your kids? It is just by doing something unique, something out of the box; something that will bring your kid inner joy. It will be implanted in that child’s memory for the rest of his or her life.

Create that lasting memory with your kid!

  • Take up a reading contest with your kid

Yes! Take up a reading contest with your kids and let one of them be the judge. You can also get a friend to be the judge, but the fun thing is, let your kid win the contest and celebrate your kid with a price. It will be implanted in his or her memory.

  • Bring back the memory

Choose a great time, it could be on an outing, ice cream in hand, then you can talk about that great event, bringing the memory back afresh. It is a fine way to create a lasting memory with your kids.

  • Get a bigger than life gift

That’s it, there are gifts and there are gifts, but you can make one particular gift very different, a gift that will be implanted on the memory of your kid. I call it a-bigger-than-life gift. A VERY unusual gift, a special gift; and definitely it will create a lasting memory with your kid.

  • Take them on a walk to a flower garden

This is an exercise you can repeat at different times, make sure it is not just a walk through the flowers, a snack or a good beverage must accompany such walks. Make your child desire for it whenever you call for such a walk. Try to teach your kids the names of the flowers and also make them to identify them in another occasion. It is a sure way to create a lasting memory with your kids.

  • Take a meditation or yoga session with your kid

Moments of meditation are special moments, yoga is also not too common, get a coach to take you and the kids on a yoga session, create a meditation time with your kid. Make it interesting, allow your kids to fully participate in the exercise; it works, a sure way to create lasting memory with your kids.

  • Visit the library together

In this period of online and soft copy books, you can create that memory with your kids by taking them to a physical library and teaching them how to locate books using the cataloguing system.

Give the kids a memory to fall back on when they grow, a story they can tell their own kids when they become parents. It is a great pathway to life; create that lasting memory with your kids.
